Step 2-The Loft Bunk When the child is old enough (at least 6 years old) the loft bed system can be reconfigured so that the desk on one end works with the drawer and shelves to support the Loft Bunk bed. The rollaway bed then fits underneath in an "L" configuration for extra sleeping space (perfect for sleepovers).
